Firmware / Field Application Engineer

The Swatch Group Ltd, is an international group active not only in manufacturing watches, such as Omega (used by James Bond), Tissot or Hamilton, but we are also a key player in embedded electronic systems, microchips and IoT, with focus on ultra-low power, low voltage integrated circuits and corresponding embedded software.

Scope of the function:

You will have the opportunity to work directly with the customers and all leaders inside the team & the company. Your mission will be to support our customer on usage of SOC, generate application for customers, generate SDK & update FW driver library. You will also interface with design team during execution phase to ensure solution is aligned with customer requirement. Working as part of  our automotive team of R&D engineers, your main responsibilities will be:

  • deliver & support customer with SW/FW/HW package  
  • develop application note for product to ease usage of team
  • develop & debug FW library with support of system/design team
  • ensure that all milestones defined with Project management. are respected
  • report and escalate to management as needed
  • manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • perform risk management to minimize project risks

We have following requirements for this position:

  • solid experience on Embedded C, Assembly language
  • solid knowledge of ARM or RISC-V FW platform
  • solid experience in SOC FW development and debug (Eclipse, GCC, Git)
  • > 5 years’ FW experience in Semiconductor

Education:

Master's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Additional requirements:

  • ability to read/write/communicate in English
  • good client-facing and internal communication skills in written and verbal form
  • solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

Having know-how or experience in the following areas is considered as a valuable plus:

  • automotive experience
  • Python
  • testing
  • French or German language knowledge
